Eucharist "The celebration of the Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian Life." (YouCat #208)
In receiving of the Eucharist we are unified with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. Through Consecration, the bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. In preparation for this Sacrament, we are reminded of God's ultimate love for us and how we can reverence and thank Him for that sacrifice.
1st Eucharist Sacramental Preparation is completed within the Parish and entails three fundamental components:
- Weekly Sunday Mass Attendance
- Faith Formation
(Catholic School, Be My Disciples, OR Catechesis Good Shepherd)
- Sacramental Preparation Program
Preparation for the Sacrament of 1st Eucharist can begin as early as 2nd Grade and must be done so after the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Preparation for Eucharist takes place in the spring and includes two programs in which the parent and child participate in together. Parents are also provided materials to further the preparation at home. For more information about Sacramental Preparation, contact Kayla Rooney, Director, at 651-423-4402 or via email.
