Blessing of the Animals, October 3

Blessing of the Animals

Saturday, October 3rd, 9 am

October 4th is the feast of one of the most important saints in the last millennium of Christianity.  St. Francis of Assisi held such a deep appreciation for the gift of life, which flowed from the hands of an all-loving Creator, that his reverence for life not only applied to his human sisters and brothers but spilled over, as well, into his compassion toward all living creatures. It is in this sense that we have come to know the blessing of animals with the feast of St. Francis.

We invite you to gather with us on Saturday, October 3rd, at 9 am in front of the St. Joseph School Entrance.  We’ll remember not only the care of all creatures at our Blessing of the Animals (the first Saturday of October), but your pet will be blessed individually as well.  Please gather at the front School entrance by 9:00 am.

Parish Office Closed Friday, September 4. Second Collection at Mass for Lebanon (Sept. 5/6). St. Joseph School starts Tuesday, September 8th - please keep families and students in your prayers! Click here for more information on Public Masses.
