Free nursery services are available during the 10:30am Sunday Mass for ages 1-3. No reservation is required, and parents can drop off they toddler in room #115. St. Joseph Community Staff, Bridget Sturm, adult and teen volunteers assist in carrying for your loved one during Mass.

The nursery is open during the 2019-20 school year, except for the following dates:

  • October 6 (Harvest Festival Weekend)
  • October 20 (MEA Break)
  • December 1 (Thanksgiving)
  • December 22 (Christmas)
  • December 29 (New Year)
  • February 16 (President’s Day Weekend)
  • March 22 (District 196 Spring Break)
  • March 29 (District 196 Spring Break)
  • April 12 (Easter)

The last Sunday the nursery will be open for the 2019-2020 school year is Sunday, May 3, 2020.

Parent’s Night Out

This year, the nursery is teaming up with the American Heritage Girls to host a FREE “Parent’s Night Out” on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 6pm-9pm. Children must be between the ages of 3 and 9, potty trained, and fed before arriving. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Register by contacting Marie Hoffman at

Nursery Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to make the FREE nursery a success. Contact if you are interested in volunteering.

All adult volunteers must be in compliance with the Essential 3 (Background Check, Code of Conduct, and Safe Environment Training). All teen/youth volunteers must also comply with the “Minor Essential 3” which entails signing a Code of Conduct and having 2 references on file.
