Teenagers in 10th Grade prepare for the reception of the Sacrament as a part of their Wednesday evening faith formation programming (7pm-8:30pm). In addition to the Wednesday evenings, Confirmation Candidates will also partake in a retreat, service/volunteer components, and guided discussions with their sponsor. The first Wednesday of every month is a Family Formation guest speaker to further enhance the preparation and deepen the faith - these nights are still a part of the formative process for the Sacrament and parents and sponsors (as able) should also attend with their Candidate.
For those enrolled in a Catholic High School, attendance at the normal Wednesday night faith formation programming is still strongly encouraged to enhance the preparation experience, but not required. Candidates for Confirmation who attend a Catholic High School will still be required to attend the first Wednesday of the month Family Formation nights (6:30pm-7:30pm), a retreat, complete service opportunities, be in guided discussion with their sponsor, and attend a discernment night and Rite of Sending Mass.
If you have a teenager that is in 11th or 12th grade that has not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation, they are welcome to still join us for our programming and preparation on Wednesday nights. Please contact us to discuss further as every situation can be unique.
