Registration for 2020-2021 will open after Easter 2020.
First Reconciliation Sacramental preparation can begin as early as 2nd Grade and traditionally takes place in the fall. Youth prepare for their First Reconciliation through 8 at-home lessons, utilizing the Saint Mary's Press "Go, Seek, & Find" program. Additionally, youth and parents participate in two learning opportunities at St. Joseph Community. First Reconciliation service is typically held in January.

*For those enrolled in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program, First Reconciliation & First Eucharist preparation is completed in the Spring as a part of a retreat.

Youth prepare for their First Eucharist through 10 at-home lessons, utilizing the Saint Mary's Press "Go, Seek, & Find" program. Additionally, youth and parents participate in two learning opportunities at St. Joseph Community. First Communion Masses are held in spring, shortly after Easter.

- Reconciliation Presentation & Logistics (attend one of the two presentation times; at least one parent needs to attend with child)

First Eucharist Key Preparation Dates
- Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 9am-4pm
- Eucharist Learning Center/Retreat (will take approximately 3 hours to complete and you can come anytime from 9am-4pm; at least one parent must attend with child)
- Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at 6:00pm
- First Eucharist Rehearsal & Presentation
- Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 5:00pm Mass (part of regular weekend Mass time)
- Sunday, May 3, 2020, at 12:30pm Mass (special weekend Mass just for 1st Eucharist)
Teenagers in 10th Grade will prepare for their reception of the Sacrament as a part of their Wednesday evening faith formation programming (7pm-8:30pm). In addition to the Wednesday evenings, Confirmation Candidates will also partake in a retreat, service/volunteer components, and guided discussions with their chosen sponsor. The first Wednesday of every month will be an opportunity for Family Formation with guest speakers to further enhance the preparation and deepen the faith.
For those enrolled in a Catholic High School, attendance at the normal Wednesday night faith formation programming will be encourage, but not required. Candidates for Confirmation who attend a Catholic High School will still be required to attend the first Wednesday of the month Family Formation nights (6:30pm-8:00pm), a retreat, complete service opportunities, and be in discussion with their sponsor.
Confirmation Mass will be: Monday, May 4, 2020, at 7pm at the Cathedral of St. Paul.

St. Joseph Community will host two all-day retreat opportunities during the 2019-2020 school year. Candidates are required to attend a retreat as a part of their preparation process. If you are unable to attend one of these retreats, please contact us at Sacraments@StJosephCommunity.org

Do you have a loved one with special needs looking to receive the Sacraments, but a traditional preparation program would not be ideal? Please connect with us to discuss options. Child Not Baptized?
Do you have a child who is over the age of 7 and is not yet Baptized? No worries, youth who are seeking to receive First Sacraments and/or Confirmation who are not yet Baptized (and are over the age of 7) are welcomed into our program called "Right of Christian Initiation for Children" (RCIC).
