Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) embraces Maria Montessori's vision and is a program designed to help children fall in love with the Good Shepherd. Children learn about the Mass, vestments, liturgy, and stories from the Bible.

St. Joseph Community offers Level I, II, & III. Level I is for children age 3-Kindergarten (PreK-K); Level II is for grades 1-3 (children must have Level 1 experience prior to being in Level 2 or special permission in order to enroll); Level III is for grades 4-6 (similar to Level II, youth must have prior level I and II experience to enroll in level III).ย All youth enrolled in the CGS program are also enrolled in our Family Formation program. (Wednesday Night CGS classes do not meet on weeks when Family Formation sessions are taking place.)

2023-2024 Sessions for CGS Levels 1-3:
Level I: Sundays 8:15am-9:45am & 10:15am-11:45am
Level I: Fridays 8:30am-10:00am
Level II: Wednesdays 4:15pm-5:45pm & 6:00pm-7:30pm
Level III: Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:30pm

We are also blessed to be able to offer the CGS program during the school day for our St. Joseph School students enrolled in the Pre-School and Kindergarten classes.
