Inclement Weather Policy
Weather-related closures at St. Joseph Church & School will be determined based on guidance from School District #196 (Visit: https://www.district196.org/about/school-cancellations-and-delayed-starts) and the National Weather Service (Visit: https://www.weather.gov/).
- If District # 196 closes school due to the weather, there will be no morning Mass/Communion Service, the parish office will be closed, and all parish activities will be canceled.
- If District # 196 calls for a delayed or late start, there will be morning Mass/Communion Services and scheduled activities will occur per usual.
- If District # 196 makes a mid-day decision to cancel afternoon or evening school activities, evening activities will be canceled. This includes Tuesday or Wednesday Children’s and Youth Faith Formation. We strive to notify Parents via email by 2:00pm.
The National Weather Service will be a guide for closures outside of school hours. Decisions will prioritize the safety of parishioners and staff. Parishioners are encouraged to check the notification bar at the top of the Parish Website for the most up-to-date information.
